Cindy received a letter from a property owner who owns a building on Gilbert and Whitney Way to allow a massage business. The Board discussed the proposal and suggested the property owner be asked to move a tree that he recently planted in front of the Orchard Ridge sign. The Board did not have a concern about the business.
Denny Caneff said we are very close to the planting of the fourth and last Orchard Ridge sign. We have the approval from the school district and we are just waiting for a permit from the city. Scott Peters, who is also working on the project, should have the sign by the end of this week.
Dave said the budget has been passed with no major budget cuts. He said the merger between the County Parks and Planning areas will occur.
· Cindy asked for people to attend a meeting on a proposal for a new car wash which we be located east of the Meadowood Shopping Center. Ron Budziszewski and Maggie Rithie will attend a December 1 meeting at the police station on McKenna Road. Some of the concerns mentioned by the Board include: operational hours, siding on car wash, parking on Russett Road, difficulty of driving into Meadowood Shopping Center with a new business located at one main entrance.
· Cindy was asked to contact the police department and ask them for the results of the Orchard Ridge survey which was completed in Spring 2003.
The signs prohibiting parking near Subzero on Hammersley and Reetz have not been installed. The Madison Transportation Department has been backlogged. Holly Halberslaben will call Dan McCormick and ask for an update on the sign installation.
A total of three speed humps will be installed along Gilbert Road from Hammersley to Russett Road. We are not sure where these speed humps will be installed.
ORCC received a $1,000 grant which the club must match for planning the future service projects for the club. Ralph Patterson and Denny Caneff will meet with Jule Stroick to get clarification regarding the grant.
Mike Konicek reported there is about $5,200 in the treasury. Mike hopes to meet with Lisa Schneider, the former treasurer, soon to transfer the books.
We will have an abbreviated Grapevine in January. The Grapevine will focus on the membership drive and be supplied to about 1,100 households in Orchard Ridge.
We made minor changes to the bylaws amended by Denny. We voted on the bylaws. The vote was 9-0. Denny will make the minor modifications and send the amended bylaws to the Board. Ralph will then post the amended bylaws on the ORCC website.
