Dan Gregory became the newest ORCC Board member. Dan has lived in Orchard Ridge for eight years, works for TDS, and is looking forward to working on the Board.

Gilbert Road Traffic Update

Denny said there was nothing to report. The City should be scheduling a meeting and handing out ballots at that meeting for a choice between islands, humps, or no control.

Halloween Contest

Dot Kroeber and Ron Budziszewski will join former Board Member Scott Peters in judging the best decorated house for Halloween on October 30. The first prize will be a $15 gift certificate for a member house and potentially a new membership for a non-member house.

Treasurer Report

Mike has talked to Lisa Schneider, the former treasurer, and Lisa told him that ORCC has about $5,000 in the treasury. Mike will be meeting with Lisa in the next month.

Planning Grant

Denny said that the interview idea has been dropped. We will find out whether the grant has been approved by the end of November.

Bylaws

Denny has updated the bylaws—again. He will send it out to Board and we will discuss it at the November Board meeting. If it is approved we will post it on the ORCC website and mention it in the next Grapevine. The highlights of the amended bylaws include:

An ability to expand the ORCC Board from nine to 15 members.
Definition of the job description of the President, Vice President, etc.

Winter Social

The Winter Social date was set on Saturday, February 21, 2004.
